Establishment of New Conference – Sevvapet

The Tiruvallur Area Council has established a new Conference at Our Lady of Good Health Church, Tirur, Sevvapet. The inauguration was marked with a solemn Holy Mass on 23rd March 2025 at 8 a.m.

The new Conference has been named Our Lady of Good Health Conference, Sevvapet. The Holy Mass commenced with a procession led by altar servers, followed by members and the parish priest. As a mark of reverence, the members and the parish priest paid homage to the statue placed in front of the altar with floral offerings. The mass introduction, readings, and the Prayer of the Faithful were presented by the Vincentian members.

Following the Holy Mass, Rev. Fr. Jude Albert introduced the guests: Bro. Lawrence, President of Madras Central Council; Bro. John Britto Stephen, President of Tiruvallur Area Council; and Bro. Arocika Alexander, Secretary of Tiruvallur Area Council and Project Officer, NCI.

Bro. Britto gave a brief introduction about the newly formed conference, after which Bro. Lawrence led the oath-taking ceremony. A total of 14 members took their oaths, with Bro. Augustine Robert sworn in as the first President of the Conference. Then Bro. Britto handed over the required documents (single register, attendance note, Receipt and Voucher books, Minutes note, Accounts note, Prayer cards, and all required forms) to Bro. Augustine Robert and the team.

The newly established office for the Conference was then blessed by Rev. Fr. Jude Albert and officially inaugurated by Bro. Lawrence.

Before the establishment of the Conference, the office bearers of the Tiruvallur Area Council—Bro. John Britto Stephen (President), Bro. Arockia Alexander (Secretary), Bro. Kingsly (Treasurer), and Bro. Joy Sebastin (Formation Committee Member)—conducted visits for four consecutive weeks. During these visits, they provided detailed explanations about the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, preparing the members for the formation of the Conference.

The Madras Central Council extends its sincere gratitude to Rev. Fr. Jude Albert, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Good Health Church, Sevvapet, for his invaluable support and guidance in forming the Conference.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the members of the newly established Conference and wish them a fruitful service to the Lord. Additionally, we commend the Tiruvallur Area Council for their dedicated efforts and initiative in establishing this new Conference.
